PEST CONTROL - BED BUGS
Due to the growing number of international travellers whose luggage carries the tiny stowaways, bed bug (Cimex lectularius) numbers in the UK are on the increase especially within hotels and university halls of residence.
Bed Bugs are nocturnal parasitic insects which feed on the blood of humans and other mammals. Females can lay between 200-500 eggs in a lifetime and they can live up to 10 months or longer depending on conditions.
Under the Public Health Act 1936 properties may be classed as being “in a verminous condition” and owners may have to have them eradicated.

Treatment – SCS Group pest control experience spans the past two decades. Once a bed bug infestation has been identified, SCS Group can carry out an intensive treatment program to eradicate the problem.

SICK BUILDING SYNDROME
Sick building syndrome is a general category for a number of ailments and complaints all due to some physical aspect of a building usually related to the ventilation system.

Poorly maintained air conveyance systems can result in dust and dirt in the ductwork or the growth of a variety of moulds that can cause lower activity levels and increased absenteeism.

THE SOLUTION

At SCS Group we work towards maintaining a healthy working environment for our clients.

In order to keep the environment clean and healthy one of the fields that we specialise in is air duct / ventilation system cleaning. We use the following method for cleaning of the system.

CLEANING METHOD

1. Remove and clean registers / vents / diffusers / grilles.

2. Cut access ports into the ducts where necessary.

3. Vacuum ducts in a systematic way using an industrial vacuum.

4. Remove the front panels of the HVAC unit to access the plenum and cooling coils. The unit is then cleaned.

5. Access ports are then covered with removable plates which allows for future maintenance of the system.

6. The clean registers / vents / diffusers / grilles are then reinstalled.

7. We recommend that the system be cleaned annually to ensure that it remains efficient.

The cleaning of the system ensures that it is working in an efficient manner keeping your environment clean and healthy.
